Maison Mediterranean, Muswell Hill

Set high in Muswell Hill with views towards the iconic Alexandra Palace, Rosebery Road is a vibrant, colourful reimagining of a four-storey Edwardian home. What was once a series of disconnected rooms is now a generous, seamlessly flowing family home – a house of levels and light, where spaces rise and fall in tune with the site’s natural contours.

The design makes use of three split levels – basement, lower ground, and raised ground – each now linked with the garden below, opening the house to sunlight, greenery, and long views across north London. Expansive glazing, balconies, and terraces blur the boundary between inside and out, while a palette of earthy browns, soft pinks, deep greens, and warm yellows brings a rich, inviting atmosphere throughout.

Both clients have strong Mediterranean heritage – one Italian, the other Greek – and their shared love of entertaining family and friends sits at the heart of the design. The choice of internal finishes, furniture, and colours reflects this cultural warmth, shaping spaces that feel alive with light, flavour, and conviviality.

Upstairs, a new master ensuite bathes in sunlight, its pink-tiled shower room opening dramatically to the sky – one of many moments where colour, light, and space meet in joyful combination.

Maison Mediterranean is a home transformed – a warm, lively, and highly liveable family space, carefully designed to celebrate its setting and character while embracing contemporary life.
